Like others before me, I decided to take the Are You OO-Ready? quiz at HalHelms.com. I have to say that I surprised myself by getting a 72.9% (35 out of 48 correct). That's not too shabby considering that I'm a (mostly) self-taught CFML programmer who just got into the whole OOP thing a little more than a year or so ago. Anyone think that maybe Hal should offer me a scholarship to one of his classes in Sarasota?
Dec 12, 2008 at 11:02 PM Ha! I dunno... seems to me that if you're doing that well on your own after the first year, that you're not too likely to need the class! Isn't that how they let people CLEP out of classes in college? If you make over a certain amount on the test (quiz), they give you the credit without the class? :) Now if you'd done poorly I think that's when you might be wanting to give Hal a call. ;)
Dec 12, 2008 at 11:03 PM shouldn't the scholarship go to those of us who scored much worse than you did? :)
Dec 12, 2008 at 11:03 PM yeah, what ike said! :D
Dec 13, 2008 at 12:26 AM Not too shabby, Tony! I was just looking at the site and it appears that *I* didn't score very well -- less than 3%! -- so it would seem that you all might want to pitch in to send me to...my own class? Ouch, my head hurts...
